South Cambridgeshire Labour CLP The fast growing constituency
Just months after the local elections, the two local Lib Dem councillors quit the Council. There is a by-election on Thursday 3rd November.
The Labour candidates are Dan Greef and Anand Pillai
Dan Greef runs a business in Oakington and lives in Northstowe with his family. Dan
has set up and led community groups and is launching a local podcast: ‘The
Northstowe Show’.
Dan says: ‘We all are aware of the lack of facilities in Northstowe and the pressure this
is putting on neighbouring villages. My top priority will be listening to residents and
pushing for a community hub and the services we need. ‘
Anand Pillai has lived in Cambs for most of his life. He knows the value of public
service — he’s worked in the NHS and now the railways.
Anand says: ‘The District Council must use its powers for the good of the local
community. We need affordable housing and local jobs so that young families don’t
have to move away. We need better and cheaper public transport.’
