A huge thank you to everyone who helped out during the election – and to Dan Greef for running such a positive and inspirational campaign.
While Conservative Heidi Allen may have retained her seat, Dan managed to reduce her lead dramatically. Dan’s vote increased from 10,860 votes in 2015 to 17,679. His vote share increased from 17.6% to 27.2%, cementing Labour’s place as the second party in South Cambs.
Heidi Allen, meanwhile, failed to increase her vote share despite thousands of potential extra votes from UKIP who did not stand this time around.
But there’s lots of work to be done. Another election could be just round the corner and we want to do even better in South Cambs. Can you help? Join the Labour Party now to be part of our movement for the many and not the few. Our next meeting is on June 20th – come along, get involved and be part of the fight for a fairer Britain in South Cambs!
